Used advanced modeling methods to perform research on the climate impacts of current and emerging energy technologies.- Applied machine learning methods to predict marginal CO₂, NOx, and SO₂ emissions from electricity generation and determine the conditions under which predictions might be less accurate.- Created the first comprehensive and open-source time series of CO₂ emissions intensity from electricity generation in the U.S. during 2001–present with data from U.S. EPA and U.S. EIA, providing a valuable resource for policymakers and researchers. Initial results with national data are available at EmissionsIndex.org.- Assessed the interaction of low natural gas and wind prices with existing natural gas capacity types to explain different changes in seasonal generation mixes across three NERC regions (SPP, MRO, and TRE).- Compared the climate impacts of power generation from coal and natural gas with carbon capture and sequestration (CCS), investigating the effect of uncertain CCS start dates and changes in methane leakage rates over time.- Taught a series of introductory classes on using Python for data analysis and visualization.

Conducted research and analysis of electricity, transportation, and other energy systems for DOE's National Energy Technology Laboratory using life cycle assessment.- Led team to evaluate over 30 fossil and renewable energy project applications to the DOE Loan Program Office, assessing existing market players and impacts to supply chain markets.- Compared and provided guidance on using climate change metrics as part of a UNEP-SETAC life cycle initiative group.- Estimated methane extraction and processing emissions not accounted for by component-level data using probabilistic programming methods.

Performed full scope of life cycle assessment consulting projects, including proposals, research, analysis, writing, and presenting final results.- Collaborated with clients to collect and inventory primary life cycle data from the production of intermediate final products.- Enhanced the online paper calculator for the Environmental Defense Fund to help companies quantify the environmental impacts of their paper consumption choices.- Gathered and organized industry and government data on the life cycle of products and systems, including building materials, petroleum fuels, packaging products, and municipal water/wastewater treatment.
