U.S. Africa Command's J4 Logistics Directorate monitors, assesses, plans and synchronizes logistics operations in 53 countries on the African continent. U.S. Central Command's Joint Theater Support Contracting Command, known as the CENTCOM Contracting Command (C3), provides effective and agile contingency contracting support for U.S. Forces - Iraq and U.S. Forces - Afghanistan in order to meet the full spectrum operational mission requirements and to build host nation capacity in self defense and economic self sufficiency.- Led over 330 soldiers, sailors, Marines, airmen, and civilians geographically dispersed at 22 contracting centers located in Iraq and Afghanistan supporting 180,000 US/Coalition war fighters in two operating areas.- Expanded the command's contracting oversight from Iraq and Afghanistan to Pakistan and Kuwait.- Implemented measures to eliminate duplicate services and right-size contracts to support the drawdown of military forces in Iraq resulting in a reduction of 52K+ contractors.
