Moved Forth Dimension Displays (ForthDD) from the RPTV market, which was rapidly declining in 2006/07, and developed the company into a high resolution Near-To-Eye (NTE) microdisplay supplier and, subsequently, a leading supplier of fast switching, high resolution SLMs for Structured Light Projection primarily for 3D Measurement and Inspection.Led ForthDD through the process which led to their acquisition by Kopin Corporation for approximately $11 million in cash plus an earnout provision. This acquisition allowed the original VC investors (Amadeus and Doughty Hanson) to exit.In June 2011 at E3 in Los Angeles, ForthDD launched Replicating Reality which was an early advocate of fully immersive, high performance head mounted displays in the entertainment arena.In 2013, ForthDD started shipping QXGA resolution near-to-eye microdisplays and has subsequently expanded the range to include WQHD and 2K resolutions.More recently ForthDD has designed and developed 1" diagonal, 2K resolution, very high brightness MicroLED microdisplays.
