As the CTO for PsomasFMG, I direct all technical aspects of solar energy systems from project definition through system operation including strategic technology assessment and selection, energy econometric analysis and production simulation, system design and engineering oversight of distributed generation plants. Recruited, trained and lead staff of highly proficient project engineers and energy analysts to define, specify and acquire new business. Expertise includes energy production and econometric modeling, photovoltaic cells and modules, inverters and DC optimization, and energy storage systems. • Defined the company’s core value proposition and project development process, branded Energy EngineeredTM. Created the analytical tools and modeling techniques required to deliver the compelling energy saving pro forma projections to win over 35MWs across 64 project sites over last three years. • Developed an energy econometric modeling method that computes clients’ energy cost savings. Demonstrated results to Antelope Valley Unified High School District to secure, design and develop the country’s largest solar PV system for a Public School (9.6MW on 10 sites). • Lead technical due diligence on global PV and inverter suppliers by conducting technical audits at fabrication, manufacturing and assembly facilities in China, Japan, Korea and domestically to verify technology development, manufacturing processes and QA procedures. Vetted over 33MW of module and inverter procurements. • Created and implemented process to accurately determine the energy performance of strategic components like modules and inverters through establishing partnerships and testing programs with third party test labs like RETC, PV Evol, and Intertek. • Analyzed energy modeling tools, including PVSYST, SAM and Helioscope; developed an energy modeling process, thoroughly vetted by Independent Engineers, that yields very high accuracy modeling (+/- 1%) of actual energy yield.

Solar energy system development with an emphasis on Concentrating PV and Distributed generation. Provided captive project developer for SolFocus resulting in development of 1.24MW of a proposed 10MW project on the Greek island of Crete.

Consultant focused on creating solar energy solutions for the Central Coast of California: • Created/evangelized values-based framework for solar project development for non-profit organizations. Authored and presented the technical paper, Harvesting More Than Energy from Solar Power, at the International Solar Energy Society (ISES) conference in 2005. • Analyzed utility costs and proposed a series of efficiency initiatives which incorporated heating and lighting control systems. Reduced energy costs by 25% for a four story, multi-structure resort lodge in the Sierras. • Developed the concept to create the largest solar power plant on the Monterey Peninsula. The plant delivered a solid financial return, including over $300K lifetime energy generation. • Conceived and directed the first solar energy technology tour and expo in Monterey County, one of the most successful in Northern California.
