I conceived, designed, and modeled the entire structure for Reserve Capital Partners. This was a GP investment structured as an individual commitment for each investor to fund a proportionate share of a series of commercial real estate GP investments. I leveraged my extensive list of debt and equity contacts and deep access to commercial real estate investments to create an investment portfolio for individuals. I underwrote each investment, thoroughly evaluating real estate business plans, and I proposed an appropriate mix of LP equity, preferred equity, mezzanine, and first mortgage debt for each acquisition. I negotiated complex joint venture agreements, produced accurate legal materials for fund formation, and underwrote offers, LOIs, and contracts for asset purchases. I recruited, hired, and trained high-performance teams, prepared forecasts and budgets, reviewed legal documents, and oversaw accounting activities. ► At Reserve Capital Partners, I served 25 investors by creating a general partnership investment fund involving the acquisition of office, industrial, and self-storage facilities. ► At OnPointe Capital, I closed an unprecedented amount of business involving the acquisition and operation of skilled nursing facilities. In my role as president, I oversaw acquisitions, financing, and NNN lease negotiations used in skilled nursing operations.► I raised capital, orchestrated joint ventures, and evaluated acquisitions as the leader of the ESmith Companies Capital Markets division.

During this time, I managed a multi-million-dollar portfolio of private investments while developing and executing complex, highly profitable, currency futures trading strategies and designing innovative new trading methodologies implemented through a sophisticated algorithm. The algorithm initiated electronic buy and sell signals that managed the account 24/7 for profit.

In this role, I drew on my knowledge of real estate, individual assets, and related laws and regulations to skillfully structure complex first mortgage debt and joint ventures for high-net-wealth individuals and families. I provided data-driven recommendations, implemented improved financial controls, and spearheaded negotiations. I developed a business plan, established financial projects, and delivered a compelling presentation to key stakeholders. I provided asset management as well as portfolio management services. I oversaw development, redevelopment, and complex financial restructuring, successfully enhancing both individual and portfolio returns. I opened the Dallas office of HFF, the country’s foremost real estate financial intermediary firm, with Jody Thornton as a private company. Following this success, I was asked to reignite the Atlanta office. I drove business transformation through steadfast leadership, forward-thinking policy development, and selective hiring. I accepted the challenge to take the struggling branch from a loss to a 20%+ net profit. As an office head, I was among the organization’s leaders who established the culture and brand for what it is today. I was solely responsible for the performance of the entire office. I trained and mentored 25 individuals, providing performance reviews and regular feedback to elevate competency and inspire excellence. I created and managed operating budgets, maintained current market knowledge, and worked with highly sophisticated finance professionals to continuously improve performance and profitability.
