Greg Yung is a Passionate about driving success through collaboration. at PayClearly. He possess expertise in html5, css3, javascript, jquery, jquery mobile and 27 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "I had the privilege of working under Greg's leadership during my time at PayClearly. As the VP of Engineering, his leadership skills were instrumental in driving positive changes within the engineering team, fostering an environment of growth and collaboration. Before he came on board, our engineering processes were somewhat chaotic and unorganized. He was able to make a big impact in a very short amount of time. With his guidance, our sprints became more focused, and our ceremonies gained purpose and efficiency. Engineer alignment led to empowerment. As a byproduct of this, I personally saw improvements in my work-life balance. In addition to being a talented leader, Greg's also a great guy. I appreciate that he took the time to get to know the engineers, what their strengths and aspirations are, and made everyone feel supported.", "As a former colleague, I warmly recommend Greg as an engineering manager. He is approachable, modest, organized, diligent, and experienced in a range of areas related to software engineering, quality, and management. I worked with Greg on a company wide initiative related to quality within our engineering department and it was a great pleasure. I hope I'll get to do work with him again in the future. If you have a need for an experienced leader in software, I would give Greg serious consideration as a candidate.", and "Greg was someone who I met by chance when there was a production issue that we were both trying to help fix (and no one was sure at the time who was responsible). He immediately jumped in and saw that he could help manage communication to help others focus on other areas. And he asked if that would be helpful before just taking over. That first interaction always stood out to me. He not only volunteered to help, but had the leadership skills to also ask and see if others thought it would be helpful. After that he started working on a group to improve developer quality at Mural. This was essentially a side project and he donated his time to do this. Through here we were able to communicate more and I was able to see that he had a great ability to see things long term. He understood that he could get more done by providing a place for developers to work on quality, push for it from the bottom up and find help for all sorts of developer problems. Again, this wasn't just something small for his own group, he constantly was seeing how his ideas and help could be applied company wide. I could always see the goals he had, by encouraging everyone to reach outside of our teams and looking to see if we could solve the shared problems with shared solutions. I believe the hours saved from this approach were quite substantial when you look at all of the work that didn't have to be replicated anymore across a variety of teams. He was fantastic at helping facilitate meetings and getting everyone to want to participate. He could communicate well with both the technical engineers and the stakeholders/product managers. Most importantly, you could see that he put a focus on not just being a leader. But creating leaders. That's a skill that took me decades to learn how to do in martial arts. It's one thing to be a leader, but to be able to start encouraging those around him to also start acting like a leader is a very valuable skill for any organization. You can see that the ideas and goals will spread quickly and that ripple effect can have impressive results from the bottom up."

Engineering Manager For Enterprise Permissions And IdentityMural May 2021 - May 2022San Francisco, California, UsWe doubled in size during my time here and I assisted in the evolution from startup to enterprise-level performance and process, and I built communities that joined talent outside of team or pillar borders. My first assignment from our VPE was to build a new team around Enterprise Permissions, attack immediate needs, and help plan the roadmap and architectural decisions for future and long-term success. At the same time, I managed and established processes with the Identity squad (6-month interim) who handled SSO, SCIM, and other integrations. As we grew, the company struggled with alignment and awareness which led me to establish a Community of Practice that empowers engineers to share their knowledge with others, sharing awareness across team boundaries and forming tactical squads to solve shared problems with shared solutions. I am a proactive leader that takes action when I see a need or opportunity and I stay in tune with cultural shifts to ensure it’s in a positive direction. -
