Young professional with four years of industry experience and a real drive for progression. After graduating from the University of Glasgow with a First Class MEng in BiomedicalEngineering in 2019, I immediately sought out employment in the engineering industry to furtherdevelop my skills in addition to gaining first-hand experience of the industry. I am currently employed with Integrated Graphene as a development engineer in their medical diagnostics department. The work performed includes initial conceptual design, device simulation, prototype testing and project management. I have had the opportunity to both lead and manage projects alongside being an effective team member as part of larger projects. I also have the responsibility of managing the budget for my department and training new employees who join my team. I have also had the opportunity to work on various individual and group projects. I performed my Master's research project at the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute in Bologna, Italy where I studied the internal loading conditions as experienced by patients who had received custom pelvic prosthetic implants through use of personalised musculoskeletal models of the patients.Whilst at university, I participated in the 2017 iGEM (International Genetically Engineered Machine) competition with a team from the University of Glasgow. We performed a research and development project for the production of a microfluidic-based biosensor to detect food poisoning bacteria. From the hard work put into this project, we were awarded with the prize for the Best Food \& Nutrition project in the competition (out of 26 teams) as well as being nominated for several other prizes including best applied design and best wiki page (top 5 out of 313 teams).
