At Schindler Lifts Australia my role was newly created and was to design and deliver the Talent Acquisition strategy. To do this I researched and aligned the current recruitment practices with industry best practices to ensure the business was strongly positioned to manage future recruitment challenges. I implement innovative solutions to candidate sourcing and attraction, targeting both active and passive candidates with platforms and search tools. I was able to identify and build key relationships with external organisations to enhance our opportunities to source candidates. Through collaboration with other internal departments such as marketing we effectively delivered the talent attraction strategy. To enable continuous improvement, I utilised analytics to see what aspects of the strategy could be improved year on yearKey Achievements • Devised and oversaw the strategy which achieved 50/50 gender diversity for the first time in the apprentice intake for 2024. All these initiatives resulted in 142% Increase in the number of female applications and 57% Increase in the number of overall applications nationally• Oversaw the recruitment of 8 management cadets nationally in 2022, achieving 50/50 gender diversity in the selection and 2 going on to achieve a place on the SCDP program in 2024.• Rewrote all adverts resulting in advert performance going from 44% underperforming and only 14% high-performing in 2021 to only 4% underperforming and 55% high-performing in 2023 compared to industry competitors. • Devised the overall recruitment strategy which used to rely heavily on external recruitment agencies, going from 16 agency placements in 2021 at a high cost to 0 placements in 2023. • Evolved the Schindler application process to reduce the number of uncompleted applications from 20% to 8%.
