• Led project management team of engineers across the US to industrialize and install a new fleet ofsemiconductor temperature testing system at multiple business sites. Kept equipment utilization above 90% during initial release schedule.• Created several data pipelines (ETL) for semiconductor testing equipment using Python, coupled withJava based (Plotly) web interactive dashboards for data visualization. Automated data reporting for several business, IT internal customers. • Designed CAD (Solidworks) models, created GD&T compliant part drawings, performed fluid flow and heat transfer analysis (FEA/Mecway/ANSYS) for 3 different rocket engine injector designs.• Collaborated with industry leading manufacturers to develop and produce rocket engine injector components, as well as completed guided part verification testing.• Deployed Python software to analyze specific heat curve fits found in different rocket engine design databases. Identified and corrected over 100 discrepancies found in PostgreSQL databases.

• Led project management team that expanded the throughput of high-volume medical devicereprocessing production lines. Gathered business requirements, managed input, feedback from several sources. Ultimately increased average device output across platforms by 8%.• Led a team that redesigned clean room floor layout to accommodate a new medical device reprocessingassembly line. Added 7% to overall site profits.• Wrote quality and safety testing technical reports for 510(k) pre-market notification submissions to theFDA. Received approval on medical device reprocessing procedure for 3 different devices.• Fabricated and assembled specialized medical testing equipment, resulted in a 60% reduction in testingtime.

Mock Trial is generally an activity for political science students or students who intend to pursue a career as attorneys. While not typically an activity for undergraduate engineering students, I saw it as an opportunity to hone my public speaking skills as well as my logical reasoning. If you ask anyone who has ever been apart of it, they'll tell you that it can be incredibly stressful but rewarding experience. Mock Trial is an activity where you are often forced to hear uncomfortable criticism about the way you speak, look, present from your teammates. Sometimes these criticisms can feel like personal attacks, but nevertheless you have to trust that nobody is meaning to insult you, and that they are just doing what they think will give the team the best chance of success. It is a very subjective competition that is won or lost based scoring of three judges who you have never met and likely will never meet again. It can be frustrating because same things that might get you scored 10/10 by one judge, might be the thing that gets you scored 3/10 by a different judge, all based on personal preference. But this type of subjectivity, this wide range of perspectives allows you to better self reflect on the way you speak and present yourself. Participating in mock trial has given me a greater confidence in the work I do in engineering because it has put me through many stressful situations. By being in front of a courtroom full of people who are all looking for every reason to score you down, and being forced to explain complex legal issues to people who have had zero exposure before, I have found it easier to communicate the complexities of the work I do in engineering.

The Associated Students of the University of Portland (ASUP) is our schools student government, I served as a representative for the Shiley School of Engineering.My biggest project in the organization was, alongside one of my good friends, working with our schools administration to make changes to our school’s Title IX, sexual assault policies. While in ASUP, I honed my communication skills by talking to my fellow students about what changes they would like to see be made on campus, and then advocating for those changes to administration. It was a job in which I was in the middle of a lot of disagreement between the student body and the schools administration and it was a job where I learned that disagreement is all but inevitable in many circumstances. At the same time, I learned that how you approach situations is everything and the importance of focusing on being open minded and communicating clearly.
