Heart-centered human passionate about connection, families, and caregiving. Currently: Working at an amazing new startup- Steadii as a Community Manager Securing publishing for my book Finding Your Poppins- a comprehensive guide for parents looking to hire (and keep) the right nanny for their family. Phasing out of my nearly-decade long career as a professional Nanny. Supporting families as a Nanny-Family Specialist with family support platform, VillygeSharing movement with individuals and groups as a Trauma Sensitive Movement Facilitator and Kickboxing Coach. Previously: I have a vast professional background but the common theme among all of my jobs has been people. I am drawn to work that provides me the opportunity to connect with and serve others. When I switched my major to Human Development and Family Studies while in college, I felt like I truly found my calling. I was fascinated to learn more about what makes each person unique and how our family system impacts our sense of self, and our ability to feel safe in the world. My first few years as a professional found me in social services working with underserved youth in foster group homes, alternative schools and treatment centers. I then decided to shift my career to providing direct, in-home care for children as a nanny. I have been a nanny for the past 9 years and have learned the ins and outs of the industry in that time. As I’ve navigated advocating for myself in my nanny roles, I’ve become passionate about fair employment practices for nannies, appropriate working relationships between families and nannies, and the unique working environment that is in-home caregiving. This is what sparked my decision to begin writing a guide for families leading them through the process of hiring a nanny and becoming an excellent nanny employer. Thus, my now complete book, Finding Your Poppins, was born. In addition to nannying, since 2018 I have been working with survivors of trauma as a Trauma Sensitive Movement Facilitator. This role has offered me the opportunity to share movement with a variety of amazing people from diverse walks of life.
