I am an anaesthetist and pain medicine specialist with interests in neuromodulation, complex regional pain syndrome and interventional pain practice.Following completion of my anaesthesiology specialist training in Malta, I undertook an advanced fellowship in pain medicine at the renowned Walton Centre in Liverpool, UK. During this time, I achieved advanced pain training competencies in line with Faculty of Pain Medicine standards and also supported the INCA trial (a feasibility study of anakinra use in refractory CRPS) in a co-researcher capacity.I am an elected Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists by examination, and also hold the European Diploma in Pain Medicine (European Society of Regional Anaesthesia & Pain Therapy).I have recently commenced a second advanced post-CCT fellowship position in neuromodulation practice with a view to subsequently establishing myself as a tertiary pain medicine specialist with an interest in this area.
