As a patrol officer I was responsible for responding to calls for service in my area as well as self-initiating patrol activities.As a master patrol officer I had the same duties as a patrol officer as well as being responsible for the training, supervision, evaluation and monitoring of officers that had just graduated from the police academy. I was called upon to act in a Sergeant's position, which entailed supervising patrol officers, investigations, inspecting paperwork, coordinating resources needed for various situations, and making various supervisory decisions. In my position as a detective I was responsible for investigating Adult Sex Abuse cases that were assigned to me. This meant that I had to prioritize cases as well as interview victims, suspects and witnesses. I also directed support staff to what needed to be done at crime scenes and I testified in court.

As a dispatcher I was responsible for taking calls for service over the phone, prioritizing the calls and dispatching them to the appropriate patrol officer. In my position as a patrol officer I responded to calls for service, self initiated patrol activities and interacted with my peers and the community.
