My professional experience includes: senior roles in political communications and public relations at federal, state and local levels, and in the private sector; as well as leadership roles in non-profit fundraising, strategic planning and development. Professional responsibilities include: serving as director of media relations for The George Washington University; working as leadership press secretary for Congressman David E. Bonior in the U.S. House of Representatives; and serving as Communications Director for the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund (U.S.) – a non-profit grant-making organization which focused on at-risk youth. As a senior level member of the Communications Division at GW, I promoted the opinions, views and vision of the University and its president. While at GW, I was also involved in the production of CNN’s “Crossfire at GW” television program, and produced videos and public service announcements, showcasing the “best of GW” for development, recruitment and public relations purposes. The “second half” of my career has included volunteering and working for independent day schools in the areas of advancement and admissions. Most recently, I served as the Director of Advancement at Park City Day School (an outstanding, inquiry-based independent school, serving students from Preschool through 8th Grade), directing all school-wide fundraising efforts.
