Applying my BA in Communications from the University of Alabama I've built strong community engagement through advertisements, email and social media marketing, and organizing events. My passion is inclusivity of the surrounding communities and building strong relationships through engagement. In my studies I’ve invested time in learning how verbal and nonverbal communication affects our daily lives through mass media. I researched the correlation between professional athlete's mask wearing behaviors and how it may influence our celebrity obsessed culture to follow in their footsteps. I also conducted a field study on if young adults obtain any uses and gratifications from intentionally choosing to use their community radio stations. My findings in this study greatly helped this organization better connect with the community of Hampton Roads. I am thrilled to continue applying my skills towards community engagement marketing.
