With over six years of work experience in the arts and culture sector, I am passionate about creating and delivering memorable experiences for audiences and patrons. As the Box Office Supervisor at Westport Country Playhouse, I manage the daily operations of the Tessitura ticketing system, oversee the customer service team, and coordinate with the marketing and development departments. In addition, I serve on the Board of Directors of Guerilla Opera, a nonprofit organization that produces innovative and experimental operas. I contribute to the artistic vision, fundraising, and outreach of the company. Besides my involvement in the theater and opera scene, I am also a licensed REALTOR® in Massachusetts and Connecticut, helping clients buy, sell, and invest. I own and manage Casa Tropical short term rentals in Puerto Rico and advocate for real estate investing and multiple steams of income to support artistic work. I have a keen interest in electronic music production, mindfulness, and stage directing, and I hold multiple certifications and degrees in these fields. I compose and produce electronic music (IDM) using Ableton Live under the moniker “Gretchen van Gogh” on Spotify and other streaming platforms. I also perform independently as a mezzo soprano (Master of Music in Vocal Performance) on occasion. As an art singer and entrepreneur traveler, I study language and have various degrees of proficiency in Spanish, German, French and Italian. I am an avid reader and self educator, always eager to learn new skills, expand my network, and explore new opportunities and experiences. Notably, I have a divergent neuro-type with high abstract and spatial orientation intelligence, intense focus, and am independently motivated. With regard to music, I am very intuitive, sensing, and feeling. I’ve also been known to be very goal-oriented and an ADVOCATE for the underdog and things I care deeply about.I currently spend 20-30 hours weekly studying software engineering at TripleTen, which has become a new passion and skillset that I hope to make a career in the near future. I can currently call myself an HTML and CSS developer, but am learning JavaScript and expect to have a junior level competency in full stack engineering by the completion of my program in summer 2025.
