As a Teach for America corps member, I have developed excellent communication and problem-solving skills, honed through working with students from diverse backgrounds in a title one school. Working in an inner-city school as a teacher of a STAAR tested subject, and content lead, I have been well equipped to make the most of any given situation with what is made available to me. As well as be able to continuously learn, lead, and work with my team in challenging circumstances.Listed below are my responsibilities and accomplishments within this role:● Selected from the top 15% of candidates of a nationwide applicant pool to join corps of professionals who commit to two years to strengthen the movement for educational equity through teaching in underserved school districts● Direct professional learning communities with peers to create daily lesson plans aligned with Common Core standards● Develop data driven instruction to increase students average score on formative assessments from 37% to 69%● Identify classroom strategies to raise active engagement from an estimated to 27% to 72% in my classroom, cultivating the classroom community, and stimulating social emotional growth● Lead the creation of specified Algebra 2 curriculum for 300+ students, reaching 187.5% of projected growth in MAP scores● Analyze data with interventionalists to determine specific strengths and weaknesses of students, with 8% testing on grade level initially. ● Provided outside consultation as part of a six-person team for the TEES Additive Manufacturing Certificate Program. Creating an action plan to claim a larger market share and establish itself as an industry leader in 3D printing ● Assessed strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to certificate program, and in response, created a hybrid certification program proposal which would increase possible class sizes by 30% by reorganizing available facilities● Directed a small team in developing a marketing campaign aimed at the programs target market, taking advantage of pre-exiting, and underutilized, networking opportunities

● Instructed a weekly class to 30 local 8th graders about basic business, economics, and college readiness● Recruited and trained college students for the Avid program, and create & develop the curriculum● Coordinated a class field trip for 60-100 8th graders, partnering with College Station ISD and Mays business school● Created virtual AVID program during the 2020 covid crisis, forging relationships with key district partners
