Grice Peters (GRICE) is a British musician, singer-songwriter, producer and composer born in Wimbledon currently based in the Southwest of England. He studied percussion and later on he studied at Croydon Art College in London where he started his musical journey as drummer and singer in a number of alt rock, post-punk bands. He has released 5 studio albums on his label hungersleep records.GRICE is known for his powerful songwriting and his innovative approach to sound production and recording which have rewarded him recognition within progressive art-rock circles resulting in successful collaborations with Richard Barbieri (Japan, Porcupine Tree), Steve Jansen (Japan, Exit North), Hossam Ramzy (Peter Gabriel, Led Zeppelin), saxophonist Raphael Ravenscroft (Pink Floyd/Final Cut, Baker Street), Steve Bingham (No-Man, Judy Dyble) and Pedal Steel Guitarist B J Cole (Elton John, Marc Bolan, Scott Walker).In addition to his solo work, he has contributed to Richard Barbieri’s 3rd album Planets and Persona and he is a co-writer on ‘Beyond the Illusion’ album by Italian keyboardist Stefano Panunzi. He has also worked closely as an engineer and producer with the late saxophonist Raphael Ravenscroft (Pink Floyd, Vangelis/Blade Runner, Duffy, Baker Street) on a number of projects including ‘Santiago’ and the single ‘Forgiveness’, Raphael’s tribute to singer Gerry Rafferty which he performed with award winning choir Tenebrae.His production work on the debut album ‘Icarus Girl’ (2018) by folk noir-singer songwriter Siobhan McCrudden has received high praise for its string arrangements and instrumentation.In 2017, he supported Richard Barbieri as part of his Planet and Persona tour, the Seventh Wave Festival and Hoxton Hall. He has worked as an assistant lecturer at City of Bristol College and has organised The State of the Arts event, New Works for Lost Voices performance and the Analogue to Digital Music Expo. In 2000 Grice set up Sound Gallery as a not for profit organisation and in 2007 he founded Sound Gallery CIC. In 2008 he established Sound Gallery Studios at Exeter Phoenix and succeeded in securing a 3-year grant for as part of the Vinvolved Youth Volunteering project. Sound Gallery Studios has gained its reputation as one of the most productive and well equipped recording studios in Devon boasting in its client list a wide range of local, national and internationally acclaimed musicians and artists. -

Musician - Artist - ProducerGrice Jan 1995 - PresentSound Gallery StudiosArt rock musician singer-songwriter GRICE hails from South London where he started his musical voyage as a drummer in a number of underground post punk bands and later on as a guitarist and frontman before moving to deepest darkest Devon. Since 2012, GRICE has gained critical acclaim in left field and progressive art rock circles with his debut album Propeller, which features the great late Raphael Ravenscroft on saxophone (Gerry Rafferty, Pink Floyd) and B J Cole. His second album Alexandrine was co-produced by friend and mentor Richard Barbieri (Japan, Porcupine Tree) and was mixed by Steve Jansen (Japan, Exit North) who also contributed to the album. Alexandrine also features Hossam Ramzy on percussion. His music has featured on films and documentaries on BBC 2, BBC Worldwide, MTV, Sky and he has garnered airplay on BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Introducing and various radio stations worldwide. GRICE has performed in many diverse venues (including festivals, art centres, theatres and churches), has supported Banco de Gaia and has appeared on the same bill as Art Brut and Public Service Broadcasting.In 2013 GRICE made an impromptu stage appearance and sang at the IB Expo in Sweden with Steve Hogarth (Marillion) on the premier performance of the track 'Naked' from the album 'Not The Weapon but the Hand' (by Richard Barbieri and Steve Hogarth) accompanied by the Isildurs Bane band and David Torn. In 2015, GRICE and his band played an exclusive gig at Berlin's Culture Container. In 2017, he took part in a short ‘Tour of Duty’ with Richard Barbieri which culminated in a live performance at Hoxton Hall in London. GRICE has also contributed vocals and Cora to Richard’s solo album Planets + Persona (2017). In 2019 he recorded his 3rd album ‘One Thousand Birds’ recored at Sound Gallery studios and was completed at Forward Studios in Rome.
