Dosimetry for new radiotherapy modalities

- “Monte Carlo modelling of Linear Accelerators and Dosimetric Systems”. With the Monte Carlo user code EGSnrc I have to simulate Linear Accelerators and calculate beams descriptors such as PDD, dose profiles and Output factors. Once that the beam descriptors are in agreement with the experimental data, I simulate detectors in order to study their response.- ”Small Radiation Fields Dosimetry”. I have to simulate, in EGSnrc Monte Carlo user code, the dose response in small radiation fields in order to calculate the correction parameters that have to be taken into account in these configurations.- “Clinical aspects of Radiotherapy Physics”. Tasks I carry as part of my daily work are: making the quality controls of the Cobalt machine and the Linear Accelerator, planning (2D, 3D and IMRT) radiotherapy treatments, making records and verifications of these treatments and participating in the first patient positioning.
