I was the assistant property manager for the Boch family personal estates in Edgartown Martha's Vineyard. This included four different properties for a total of 17 acres and an estimated $35,000,000 in property and assets. Throughout the course of my internship I was responsible for not only ensuring all homes, boats, vehicles and properties were in working order, but pristine condition as well. In my daily schedule I would assist and coordinate with several contactors (plumbers, masons, carpenters, tillers, painters) as well as different maintenance crews, landscapers, gardeners and cleaners. I was in charge of inventory for food, alcohol and general landscaping/construction materials. My position also included a strong hospitality component which included chauffeuring VIP guests to and from the airport and ferry.

The Grillin' Greek is a very small, locally famous takeout restaurant, I had many varying roles within the business. My everyday activities included working the cash register, dealing with all phone calls, inventory, kitchen communication and food preparation. I also coordinated all outgoing deliveries and ensuring every order was prepared as specified by the customer. Throughout my experience I also provided catering services to large format consumers i.e. schools, businesses, town halls. A significant obstacle I overcame was the fact that back of house workers were not proficient in English.

I was a student worker in the Alice Cook House Dining Hall. My responsibilities for this position included keeping track of and recording food temperatures/conditions. I was also in charge of a station each night which required constant cleaning, attention and maintenance as hundreds of students would come through within a time span of three hours. Communicating with the Chefs and other kitchen staff was essential for guaranteed efficiency and safety.
