Selected to lead and develop the Department through a period of significant change, from redeveloping the fabric of the building, implementing new technology and software, to course redesign to meet new educational requirements. My passion and dedication, saw the Department become popular with pupils and parents and was a highlight of the school tours. In addition, I am Moderator and marker for AQA for both GCSE and A- level.Responsibilities • Sole individual responsible for management and development of the Design and Technology Department• Departmental budget holder• Lead support in health and safety and monitoring systems.Key Achievements • Completed a successful refurbishment and technology uplift (IT and CAD/CAM) to improve the learning experience.• Delivered outstanding teaching and learning. Brought in to develop and update the Department to become a popular, relevant, and inspirational learning environment for the pupils and colleagues. Working with DFE secured 3D printers for the school. I left it a thriving and popular Department. Results were strong and pupil participation had grown significantly.Responsibilities • Manage 3 colleagues and 1 technician to deliver electronic products, product design and resistant materials, to GCSE and A-level.• Generate learning schemes across all areas and designed and create a virtual learning environment.• To rebrand Design and Technology across the school and foster wider stakeholder engagement.• Liaise with local feeder schools and supported curriculum.Key Achievements• Successful bid and installation of new technologies including CAD/CAM (3D Printing, Laser Cutter, Vinyl Plotter).• Significantly increased awareness and understanding of subject with staff, pupils, and parents. • Achieved 100% pass rates• Lead a successful refurbishment of the Department improving the overall learning experience.
