During my time at HDS I worked for numerous companies deploying block solutions, migrating data, and setting up disaster recovery solutions. My clients have been in the financial sector as well as several larger companies throughout the United States.

My primary responsibility at San Joaquin County is managing and providing break-fix service to 100+ physical Windows servers, 30+ physical Redhat Enterprise Servers, 6 VMware ESX servers in two clusters that host 50+ VM's, 7 Brocade Fabric Switches, and 3 Sans. Other day to day activities include documenting changes, troubleshooting issues, monitoring servers and reading logs, building new physical servers and VM's, and day to day preventative maintenance.During my time at the County I designed, tested, documented, and then implemented two clustered VMware environments, and successfully migrated old VM's from single server instances of ESX2.0 to a clustered ESX 3.5 environment. Then to save money I designed and wrote a custom application with a GUI to provide easy andautomated backups of the clustered environment using VCB. I have provided many solutions for issues that have risen over time and documented them for future reference.Part of my responsibility at the County was to find and implement new solutions to ease administration. Through the use of Bash, Perl, and VBS, I have designed several scripts to take care of day to day tasks. One of the solutions I built and implemented is a notification system that texts me within minutes of a service going down instead of waiting until a customer calls with a complaint. · Built a customized Lab version of the server environment for testing · Manage an Enterprise FTP Server on Linux, a SFTP server for Secure DMZ Transactions on Linux, and an internal FTP server on Windows · Designed, developed, tested, and implemented two Clustered Virtual Infrastructure Environment · Designed, built, and introduced a custom backup solution for ESX Server · Deployed Linux onto a s390 Series Mainframe · Intermediate experience managing Brocade Fabric Switches and Hitachi San devices.

Primary Responsibility is to teach linux to students with skill sets ranging from new computer users to Windows savvy individuals. Course includes coverage of hardware, software installation, administration, and day to day use. · Managed classes of 25+ students. · Teaching style is lab plus lecture, hands on style · Able to introduce abstract ideas in an ideal and easy to understand way · Built an ESXi Environment for students and faculty.
