Undergraduate research assistant studying novel vibration isolation mount design. The project is examining a new type of isolator that converts translational input forces into a combination of translational and rotational motion. The design allows the isolator to trap some of the input energy as rotational vibration, preventing it from reaching the structure. My role involves working with a Matlab parametric model to simulate isolator performance, determining optimum design parameters, and developing explanations for the increased performance of optimum designs. I am currently funded as an Air Products Undergraduate Researcher.
