Lead technical role on camera system architecture, translation of requirements from marketing and customer service into technical specifications, identification of new suppliers and input into formulation of new development projects. Various system modeling, proof-of-concept experiments, image processing algorithms and data analysis. Development of new patent applications, administration of IP portfolio and freedom-to-operate research.

Principal research role in EPSRC-funded project for development of novel direct electron detectors for TEM, with Prof. Angus Kirkland as principal investigator. Academic work included imaging theory, radiation physics, device design and fabrication, and beam tests. Commercial work with Isis Innovation Ltd to form Oxford Imaging Detectors Ltd, now with JEOL Ltd.

Junior research role for investigation of GaN-based devices for display applications, in particular reliability and failure of blue and white LEDs. Work funded by the LINK initiative of DTI, with Professor Sir Colin Humphreys as principal investigator.
