I had three main tasks:Parameter Estimation - Worked with a team of researchers to perform parameter estimation analyses on various gravitational wave events as picked up by LIGO detectors through the use of RIFT, a PyPI package consisting of a mix of Python and Bash scripts.Injection Studies - Worked in a team of four to first generate waveforms of chosen parameters based on real gravitational wave events using Python and Bash scripts. We then performed a parameter estimation analysis on these waveforms using RIFT, allowing us to see how effective our analysis pipeline is at recovering the parameters of a system based on a waveform.Run Monitoring Software - Worked in a team of four to help create a log of information about a user’s current RIFT runs out of a mix of Python and Bash scripts. This will assist many LIGO researchers with keeping track of all the events they perform a parameter estimation analysis on.

Worked with a team of 13 people to create a research proposal and send an experiment into space, based around how crossing over, a process that creates genetic variance, changes in microgravity.
