Instruct entry-level Marines as Towed Artillery Systems Repairmen, in accordance with Training Standards and the Systems Approach to Training manual. Write, review, and update lesson plans and course materials. Lead and mentor students, and provide training based on real-world experiences. Advise the Chief Instructor, Senior Marine Instructor, and Course Manager on all aspects of the course, including recommendations for improvements.

Oversee and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance on the Battalion’s artillery assets. Ensure the Ordnance section is trained and in compliance with Individual Training Standards. Serve as technical adviser to Battalion Command Staff on maintenance issues, as well as determination of requirements, storage, and distribution of ordnance-related materials. Monitor Battalion requirements for personnel in MOS 2131 and make recommendations for assignments of personnel within the command. Ensure Battery leadership is informed of all projects, policies, or procedures that will affect their respective firing batteries. Deployed to Camp Fallujah, Iraq in 2007 in support of counter-insurgency operations. Assigned as the Noncommissioned Officer in Charge of the South Entry Control Point gate, responsibilities included: supervise and conduct searches of all non-military vehicles attempting to gain entry, while ensuring all traffic entering and exiting is properly logged in. Maintain accountability of all gear turned in by Iraqi Nationals and Third-Country Nationals upon entrance. Conduct security patrols through neighboring villages and the Battalion’s Areas of Operation. Provide security for detainees as necessary.

Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on all howitzers belonging to the 10th Marine Regiment. Deployed to Iraq twice during this time in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Responsibilities included but were not limited to the following: Provide security for Company staff as well as the Battalion. Provide maintenance support for artillery batteries, assist with recovery missions.
