Interviewed New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor in both English and Spanish about his upbringing in Puerto Rico, his professional baseball career, and his New Balance sneaker deal, as part of ESPN’s Hispanic Heritage Month Special. Worked closely with New Balance’s Global PR Manager to coordinate interviews, shoots and deliverables of photos and videos to ensure we had all we needed for post edit. Coordinated with camera crews in New York and Puerto Rico to oversee the look of additional interviews, conducted the interviews and discussed shot lists necessary to tell Lindor’s story. Wrote the script with ESPN Reporter Aaron Dodson and worked closely with a post editor on various cuts before approving the final versions for TV, social and digital platforms.Most recently I worked on the pre production and field production of multiple interviews, specialty shoots and scenes in New York City and San Juan, Puerto Rico for a short feature on Puerto Rican professional boxer Amanda Serrano. Additional work included collaborating with a reporter to write a script in both English and Spanish as well as supervised stringing the feature in post-edit alonside an editor.

Work closely with the showrunner, executive producer, talent, production manager, associate producers, the director of photography and the entire camera crew as we film episodes for Season 6 of a true crime documentary show called "Cold Justice". Travel to different cities across the country as we work in collaboration with police departments and sheriff's offices to document the unraveling of open investigations with an aim to help solve cold cases. Become knowledgeable about each episode's cold cases to ensure all the content necessary to film is executed. Establish and maintain relationships with local law and families of victims, scout and lock locations for filming, conduct OTF interviews, sit-down interviews with local law and family members, as well as help plan daily shooting schedules. Help create daily beats and execute them in the field.

Worked alongside a production team to scout prospects at Amazon’s North Carolina fulfillment center and delivery station for an Amazon national ad campaign called "Behind the Box". Helped identify Amazonians for more in depth profile, home stories. Created shooting schedules for efficient filming days. Started prompting and creating video content and highlights for various SportsCenter daily shows. Moved to work on "Fuera de Juego," a daily soccer TV show in Spanish that aired on ESPN Deportes. Here I worked alongside a production team, creating video content and soccer highlights for the show. After one year, I moved to the Features Department in which I assisted features producers by transcribing interviews in English and Spanish and creating clip reels for their stories. In about three months I began field producing my own pieces and working alongside editors to create features that aired on ESPN and ESPN Deportes.

Tucson, Arizona

Selected as one of 23 journalism students across the country to work alongside reporters and editors from The New York Times and Boston Globe on stories in Tucson, Ariz., and Mexico. Wrote a longform piece on the early signs of an increase in illegal migration reported by ranchers, social service agencies and the U.S. Border Patrol along the 388-mile border in Arizona. The 1,200-word article was on page A1 of the Institute's paper.

(CActivo was a local weekend sports show that aired on Azteca 43, a local Azteca America Spanish-language television station.) Covered local sports in Monterey County, including soccer, football, running, wrestling and boxing. Directed camera crews in the field for production of feature stories, wrote scripts and narrated stories. Interviewed coaches, players and community leaders about various topics, including female athletes in aggressive sports, milestone statewide victories and teams’ monetary hardships. Covered diet and health issues, such as the problem of obesity in the Latino community.

(The Salinas Californian, founded in 1871, is a Gannett regional newspaper with weekly circ. of ~ 7,000.) Filed daily stories and updated the website with fresh content of news briefs and photos. Reported breaking news, including SWAT raids, homicides, fires, car and plane crashes. Covered the education beat and wrote enterprise stories, including one on the increased number of homeless students in Monterey County that resulted in awareness of the problem; increased donations given to the school district’s homeless center. Broke news of a school district dumping thousands of textbooks that a different school district needed, leading in a request by Monterey County Superintendent of Schools to create surplus log available online (https://sites.google.com/a/mcoeapps.org/surplus/); helped school districts recycle and reuse unneeded textbooks. Contributed stories and translations to El Sol, the sister Spanish-language paper for The Californian.
