Trading Execution Research:--> Developed ideal Solarflare settings for C++ based trading applications, market data ingress, order egress.--> Implemented a single hot thread architecture in legacy software, pinning threads to CPUs.--> Benchmark testbench for Futures FPGA systems: Created a layer 1 network for injecting market data into our FPGAs and receiving the resulting orders. Introduced random packet errors and measured results with nanosecond precision.--> Wrote python tools providing real time tic-to-trade latency measurements for futures and FX trading in production to ensure live-market behavior matched our optimal lab results.--> Helped develop and deploy HC’s microwave circuit arbitration software. --> Publisher and lead researcher behind the firm’s proprietary methods and techniques for being one of the fastest FOREX trading firms in the world.--> Wrote python based emulators for market data and order matching for CME, ICE, EUREX, banks, and all major FOREX ECNs. This allowed us to benchmark HFT strategies with real market data in our research laboratory.--> On numerous occasions I was asked to work directly with specific trading teams to help them obtain the best execution performance for their automated strategies.Site Reliability Engineering Manager--> Because of my expertise in system calibration, I was asked to create a 24-hour global SRE team so I moved from New York to Chicago to build it.--> Following Google’s SRE playbook, I sourced, trained, and managed the engineers which make up the 7-10 member team globally.--> Involved in thousands of high priority trading disruption issues, wrote dozens of post-mortems, automated much of the recurring error corrections, and proposed hundreds of engineering solutions because of my intimate familiarity with the technical issues. --> Worked out the best way to adapt our low-latency practices to the cloud-based nature of crypto assets.
