The IACP is governed by a Board of Directors. Board members are recruited by a nominating committee and approved by vote of the general membership. The Board consists of seven members — three officers and four at-large directors — plus a non-voting representative from the Board of The Culinary Trust, IACP’s philanthropic foundation.Directors serve two-year terms unless they have been elected by the Board to serve as one of three officers: Secretary-Treasurer, Chair, and Past Chair. The Board is primarily responsible for setting IACP strategy, budgeting, and ensuring that plans for achieving the organization’s strategic and financial goals are in place. To chart progress toward these objectives, the Board meets six times per year with Headquarters staff.

Throughout both of my roles within the College, I managed the multi-site, daily, and strategic operations of the schools with more than 50 faculty and 1,100 students. I fostered a maximum performance environment for faculty and staff by optimizing both the student learning experience and the financial performance of the school through executive management and leadership of P&L, operating plan development and implementation, and financial goal forecasting.Some Key Accomplishments: -Leading the top performing campus among 16 schools from 2011-2014 in terms of operating income, staff engagement, and student satisfaction.-Establishing a foundation of service excellence that significantly increased staff/faculty morale ratings 400% and improved yearly attrition rates for six consecutive years.-Facilitating several institutional self-study and effectiveness Programs for SACS, ACICS, ACCSC, COE, and ACF accreditation standards. I also led and hosted numerous zero-findings site visits.

Directly supervised 10-15 people in Sevastopol, Crimea and coordinated work of 10-20 people worldwide at any given time on various projects. Spent 3-4 month a year in Sevastopol. Created and managed computerization project of the Museum at the National Preserve of Tauric Chersonesos. Served as production editor for Crimean Chersonesos, publication series Archaeology in Ukraine, Chersonesos Studies, and other books; coordinated all aspects of research, content, design, writing, and editing. Wrote progress reports and grant proposals, make public presentations, and direct public relations. Secured $500,000 in grants for IT projects and expenses; never exceeded planned budget in 5 years. Saved More than $50,000 through judicious supply buying and shipping strategies with savings resulting in the hire of 6 full-time employees in Sevastopol for 2 full years.

I started this business with a partner, overseeing the creation and implementation of programs, curricula, catalogs, and school publications to enhance the learning and development of culinary professionals. I exercised best practices in the hiring, training, and mentoring of faculty and staff in the best instructional and operations management processes. Additionally, I evaluated faculty performance and student learning outcomes in person and via surveys/interviews, and established professional development goals to improve institutional effectiveness.Selected Accomplishments:-Securing national accreditation through the Council on Occupational Education.-Expanding enrollment by 75% after securing U.S. Department of Education Title IV funding (2003).

The UT Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies is a National Resource Center providing services to K-12 teachers, junior colleges, business, the media, and the general public. Planned and implemented Center outreach activities for Texas high schools and the general public. Additional roles and functions: Undergraduate advisor for BA degree program: advised 30 students, maintained student records, created course schedules and descriptions. Grant writing and evaluation for US Department of Education Title VI funding of Center. Developed systems, tracked information, and prepared reports on Center outreach activities. Maintained Russian and Easter European Network Information Center, an award-winning clearinghouse for web-based information on the x-USSR. Developed online teaching resources.

Moscow - Established TIME Moscow photo department, directed all photo operations in the former USSR: managed local and international photographers, generated story ideas, coordinated picture assignments, obtained, and edited material for publication. Responsible for office administration, logistics, technology and finances: supervised a staff of fifteen, assisted correspondents covering relevant news stories, maintained bureau computers and communications, and prepared bureau financial reports and budgets.New York - Responsible for department logistics as operations manager. Created technical room and maintained computers and photo transmission equipment.
