Driving Avi to be an industry leader using analytics, self-service and decision automation as product differentiators.Leading 60+ software developers across technology teams - API and Network Security, Analytics, UI/UX, SaaS Services API, Automation Services, and Licensing.- Built the Security and Analytics team with the goal of making web applications security automated and self-service without the need for specialized SecOps.- The API/network security features include ACLs, L7 security rules, DDOS, OWASP ModSec, App Signatures, IP Reputation, virtual patching, and Bot Management.- Worked with the product team to define the cloud application and API security strategy for VMware security portfolio.- Led a small team to create a SaaS-based threat intelligence and proactive support (GA in 12M). Avi analytics is one of key differentiator compared with solutions from public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and incumbent solutions. - Created a fast real-time streaming analytics engine that can analyze billions of operational metrics per hour using less than 24 cores and 64 GB of memory. It also computes anomalies on thousands of metrics for every cloud application.- Invented application health score that quantifies application performance against SLAs and any risks due to security or resources. It is a new patented approach compared to simply measuring the operational state of up or down. Created and patented blue/green and canary deployments based cloud application autoscaling. - Defined vision and built a team with the goal of reducing friction to deploy and migrate applications onto Avi solution. The solution reduced migration time from 100 days to an hour for more than 1000 apps. - Led Avi’s integration into leading orchestration frameworks like Ansible and Terraform.

Designed and Developed control plane applications for Cisco's MDS and Nexus Switches based on event driven and FSM based design patterns. - Engineered several enhancements Port-channel (Ether-channel) and IEEE 802.3ad (Link Aggregation Control Protocol – LACP). This library reduced development time for High Availability features by more than 50% (typically 2-3months).− Finite State Machine (FSM) Utilities Library – Enhanced library for FSM implementation, runtime debugging, transaction management, application level locking, and IPC multicasting utilities. − Created a C data structure marshaling/un-marshaling utility like Google Protobuf using C Macros for IPC messages. The utility reduced time to create APIs by 90%.

Research in the area of High Speed Router Design with Dr. Adnan Aziz. Master's thesis in State Efficient Exponential Averaging based scheme to track high bandwidth traffic flows in routers. Implemented a Distributed Dynamic Minimum Spanning Tree Algorithm in Java. Developed IntServ Architecture for end-to-end QoS on Intel’sIXP1200 programmable routers. Implemented a packet classifier, buffer management, and Earliest Deadline First priority scheduler.
