My current project is examining how seabirds (albatross) forage with respect to winds and behaviour and to quantify that relationship in space and time.

I am also part time contracting for the Farallon Institute, where I am examining how large flocks of seabirds may be contributing to ocean productivity

My PhD project was looking at how long term trends in Sooty shearwater, a species of pelagic seabird, behaviour and population dynamics can predict shifts in the Southern Oscillation (thus predicting El Nino).

My role with LCR was to model the distribution of St.John's Wort for the South Island of New Zealand at a scale of 100 x 100m. Modeling was performed using boosted regression trees in R.

As part of this position, I was in charge of programming and automating the modeling of the distribution of 400+ species of terrestrial vertebrates for the state of Alaska. The program consisted of a GUI with options to print out JPEG images of the predicted maps, as well as assessments as performed by MAXENT.
