Welcome to my LinkedIn profile! I'm George Sakellariou, a Computer Science graduate based in Thessaloniki, Greece. I completed my degree at the International Hellenic University in December 2022.With a strong passion for data engineering and analytics, I have acquired valuable experience in the field through my role as a Data Engineer at Margera in Larnaca, Cyprus. In this position, I was responsible for designing and deploying data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform, optimizing data storage and retrieval processes using SQL and BigQuery databases, and building Docker containers for efficient deployment of data processing applications.During my internship as a Big Data Analytics Engineer at the University of Nicosia, I developed algorithms to enhance image recognition accuracy from satellite imagery, implemented data processing systems for real-time analysis, and integrated machine learning models for improved efficiency.I have also worked on exciting projects such as developing sports analysis software with advanced image recognition algorithms and creating a stock market trading bot that automated stock purchases based on market trends.I am always eager to learn and grow in the field of data engineering and analytics, and I look forward to connecting with like-minded professionals and exploring new opportunities in the industry.👋 Feel free to reach out to me via email at gsakel5@gmail.com or connect with me on LinkedIn.
