As a member of the development team at Össur I've taken a part in many diverse projects, all of them related to one or more Microsoft platforms.* Össur ServicebusThe goal of the servicebus is to provide a well defined and secure path for data going both in and out of Össur.Programming is done in C# and database programming in T-SQL.Endpoints for the world at large are exposed through MS Azure App Services and Servicebus Relays, RESTful web.api's and regular SOAP.On the internal side we use Nevatech's Sentinet for API management, service versioning, authorisation, and transformations where needed.My roles in this project include C# programming, T-SQL programming, solution architecture, requirement gathering, and administration of the various platforms.* Integrations - Tasks/Projects too numerous to list but most of them share one of the following: - BizTalk is the tool of choice for near real time integrations.Custom code, when needed is done in C#, database programming in T-SQL. - SSISFor integrations that usually involve more bulk and are run nightly/weekly/monthly.Most, if not all, database code is written in T-SQLCustom script components are done in C# - Custom integrationsCustom integrations are usually programs written in C# for jobs that don't fit the above mentioned platforms.Most often they involve data being read, parsed and validated, sometimes manipulated by custom business rules, and then submitted to a vendor. * Other .Net(C#) ProgrammingOffice add-insWindows FormsASP.netLightswitchSilverlight* DatabasesDatabase design and programming * MS Dynamics NAVHaving worked extensively around NAV databases since I began working for Össur I now consider myself semi-fluent in the way NAV stores its data. * MS Dynamics CRMOn the front end of CRM I've done some minor form customisation but on the back end I've worked with both CRM's database and services.* MS SSASCube programming (OLAP)

At Þjóðskjalasafn (Iceland's National Archive) I worked on a new web application for The National Archives Census Database. The database includes some of the oldest census data known in the world and can be found at http://manntal.is/My roles:* Designing the first version of the web application.* Database programming using mySQL. * Service layer programming using C#.* The first ASP.Net mock-ups of the user interface.

As a Software Development Consultant for Applicon ehf. I worked on various projects which usually involved .Net in some way. * A Web-service layer programmed in C# with a Microsoft SQL Server as a back end for Iceland's Housing finance fund (Íbúðalánasjóður). XML data was submitted, parsed, acted upon and submitted to a database. Synchronization with other services was involved as well.My roles: C# programming, T-SQL programming.* An ASP.Net application for SMÁÍS (the Association of film rights-holder in Iceland).The web application was to register and maintain movie attendance numbers for cinemas in Iceland.My roles: Requirements gathering, ASP.Net programming in C#, T-SQL programming, Microsoft SSRS report programming.* Data Validation Engine for financial data that was to be submitted to SAP.Here a Windows Forms Application was programmed in C# which allowed the user to administer validation rules programmed in T-SQL, run those rules against a set of data that was to be integrated into SAP and view and act upon the results of those rules.My roles: The programming of the application in C#, programming of the validation rules using T-SQL and programming of the engine to run those rules using T-SQL.* Applicon ServiceBroker - A .Net API programmed on top of SAP.The ServiceBroker was, and probably still is, used to encapsulate SAP functions.It's design gave the developer the option of including it as a regular reference or as a web service reference.The ServiceBroker was developed in companion with a front facing asp.net application and served it with both SAP and SQL data.My roles: C# programming, T-SQL programming and I even got to take a minor look at how the SAP programming interface looks like and how it's used. Minor being a key point.* Applicon iBanking - A complete .Net internet banking solution built on top of the ServiceBroker mentioned above.My roles: C# programming, DB2 programming, T-SQL programming.
