Do you have an instrumentation challenge?I'm a digital systems designer with "whole-system" design expertise. My hardware and software for scientific payloads has operated for a decade in Antarctica, and has measured the universe while floating at an altitude of 35 km (22 mi). I have designed radar payloads for Low-Earth Orbit, and I am currently designing for a space mission at the Earth-Sun L2 Lagrange point, 4 times more distant than the moon.In any complex engineering project, the technical crux is only accessible if the team tackling it is integrated and performing. I have leadership experience, and am comfortable with hiring, project planning, training, presenting, and organization. I am a champion of best-of-breed knowledge-tracking tools.For the past decade, my designs have centered around high-speed signal processing on an FPGA. That means:• Deep technical familiarity with FPGA flows using Vivado in VHDL, Verilog, and SystemVerilog,• High-speed data converters, including RFSoC and JESD204B devices,• Polyphase filter bank (PFB) channelizers and dechannelizers,• CIC and FIR filters, decimators, and interpolators,• High-speed networking (1G/10G Ethernet, Aurora), including line-rate multicasting, and• Design for Reliability / Design for Testability, including mitigation of radiation effects (SEU/SEE, TID).This deep specialization in FPGA/DSP is accompanied with an excellent grounding in related specialties:• Analog/digital design and schematic capture (Altium, CADSTAR, Eagle, KiCad)• FPGAs and logic design (Xilinx, Microsemi)• Embedded systems (Linux, U-Boot, MicroBlaze, ARM, PowerPC)• Software (C, C++, Python, Lua, TCL)• Revision control (Git, Subversion, CVS)Does this sounds like you?
