The Former 39 YearsA Biography and Resume of Gregory SmithGreg Smith, Co-founder and former Vice President of Gem Fabrication USA, began his Fire Protection career in 1985 with Grinnell Fire Protection Systems / ITT Grinnell in NC. By 1989 Gem became the Nation's largest fabricator of pre-engineered fire sprinkler and process piping systems. Greg's resume consists of amassing and branding 16 fire sprinkler and process piping fabrication facilities across the US and one in Canada. Constructing a solid Nationwide Sales Team and marketing program propelled the business segment sales to over $100MM by 2001. Today, Greg serves Core and Main's Industrial Fire Protection Division as a business development manager for the East Coast region.Greg received the Tyco President's Award for Outstanding Achievement and exceeding EBITDA expectations three years concurrent. Before joining Tyco, Greg served as Plant Manager for the Polymer Corp, a Reading, PA. company that manufactured polymer products. Greg earned his BSE from NCSU and BA in Labor Relations at Cornell University corporate leadership extension. LEAN and Six Sigma training rounds out his qualifications.
