As the first data scientist at Flexera, I had to wear many hats. Most of my time was spent exploring Salesforce data, deriving metrics and painting a picture of what went well and what might not be working, along with automating analyses and dashboards to reduce time to analysis. This included research in customer segmentation, market sizing, pricing analysis, and sales forecasting. Occasionally I was asked to work with other teams to build a model that helped predict some event. For example, I worked with the Support department to build an end-to-end process that predicted whether a service ticket would be escalated, which used a batch process to automate the ETL and scoring using the machine learning model I constructed.

The BAC role is one that required autonomy and an ability to navigate in uncharted territory. Balancing business acumen with technical skills, I worked with teams to lead and participate in the development of data science products in the IoT/Connected Car space. These products ranged from dashboards to monitor billions of data points collected from the DriveWise device program to uncovering fraudulent claims using GPS data.

My role at ABD was a mix of deep technology analysis and overall tech support as we purchased and maintained a complex tech stack.

Intern for a start-up company developing internet products. Focused mostly on customer research, internet analytics, customer development, and general start-up growth.

Taught beginning and intermediate sailing and windsurfing to children and adults ranging in age from four to sixty-five. Also handled rentals and members at the boathouse.

Oversaw water safety at home yacht club, performed any miscellaneous tasks as needed, handled members and their children, acted as race committee for junior fleet, helped to coordinate E-Scow Nationals and served on the race committee for the event.
