"Cooling system optimization for an air cooled engine"►Objective was to enhance cooling rate of the 120CC TVS engine in order to enhance its lifetime► Developed a Matlab code to model the effects of geometric parameters(arc length of the exhaust casing, length of the fin) and operating parameters(engine RPM, ambient air temperature) on the heat transfer rate► Using this model calculated the heat transfer for various input parameters and evaluated the best input configuration for optimal heat transfer rate► Developed prototype model and successfully benchmarked the optimal design point to within 5 % of the test results►This improved 10 lifetime of the engines by 1-3 years depending on the consumer usage
