Roles and responsibilities include: Functional responsibility for the production engineering discipline; leading a team of Artificial Lift subject matter experts; leading the Oxy Engineering Development Program for recent engineering graduates; and providing technical support, mentoring and training for multiple artificial lift techniques.

Key Responsibilities:• Provide in-house expertise and training as a company authority on artificial lift system design, surveillance and troubleshooting, primarily on gas lift, progressing cavity pumps and well deliquification methods.• Develop artificial lift surveillance processes, tools and best practices that maximize production and minimize costs; assist business units in their application.• Provide technical expertise during the development of artificial lift data analytics for inclusion into Oxy’s Nexus platform.• Responsible for competency development of production engineers globally.• Assist in the development of artificial lift contracts across the company and participate in tender technical evaluations.• Provide standards for, and oversee QA/QC practices for manufacturing, handling, storage, installation and root cause failure analysis of artificial lift equipment, primarily gas lift and progressing cavity pumps.• Stay current with new artificial lift technology and seek ways to increase value from its use.• Represent Oxy on industry initiatives, such as API and ISO standards development.

• Act as champion for production surveillance implementation and continuous improvement efforts throughout the global organization.• Lead the Production Surveillance Community of Practice.• Insure each Business Unit's surveillance processes meet high standards through periodic reviews.• Proactively work with the Business Units to expand the knowledge of production surveillance and participation in the Community of Practice.• Evaluate practices that support enhancement of production surveillance, e.g. well testing methods and frequency.• Develop metrics to measure the effectiveness of surveillance practices.• Develop / identify training for production surveillance.
