About Gerry Stoia

GERARD J. STOIA, MBA | 908-399-0716 | GERRYSTOIA@GMAIL.COMI've served as a CEO for more than 20 years and built three market-leading business-to-business global information companies by empowering people, putting them in the right roles and challenging them to excel. I've bought businesses, re-platformed businesses and sold businesses and greatly enjoyed the many challenges involved in creating value for my stakeholders. When I step-back and consider what I liked most about my leadership positions, it wasn’t just developing strategy or enhancing customer engagement. Although I enjoyed those aspects of the job greatly, what gave me the most satisfaction was working with colleagues, one on one and in small groups to solve problems and make decisions. I found it incredibly rewarding to help colleagues work through complex business issues and it was very satisfying to mentor employees, help guide their personal development and watch them succeed. Likewise, whether challenging negotiations or exciting product ideation, I always enjoyed working through important issues with customers. My passion for doing the challenging work to address complex issues combined with developing people as I develop myself is why I became a Vistage chair. I facilitate exclusive/invitation only peer advisory group meetings where members help each other process the issues they face. The collective wisdom of the Vistage group is invaluable when evaluating opportunities and solving difficult challenges. In addition, I provide individual coaching to help leaders grow their businesses and be more profitable. Members of my Vistage group know what it’s like to lead a company. These CEOs, business owners, and executives have overcome obstacles and faced many of the same challenges you may be facing. But being a Vistage member isn't about giving/getting answers. There are other forums and groups for that. Vistage is about asking/answering questions, sometimes hard probing questions related to what's preventing you and your company from full achievement of your goals. My peer groups and one-on-one coaching isn't for everyone. It's hard work done in a confidential non-competitive setting. But if you are an executive who wants to excel, beat the market and really lead vs manage, my Vistage group may be right for you. Take a giant step toward your future by connecting with me at gerry.stoia@vistagechair.com and let's see if my Vistage group in northern New Jersey is a good fit for you.
