Engineering services (pressure vessel design calcs.), supplier code/quality inspections, QMS developement/implementation, writing Quality/NDE manuals, procedures/specifications and classroom/hands-on training are examples of what I enjoy most about my career. I guess I can say I'm a Code nerd since I enjoy utilizing these Codes/Standards/Recommended Practices (ASME, NBIC, TEMA, API, AWS, DOT, etc.) to assure project compliance. I enjoy writing WPS/PQRs, especially when toughness is required with multiple Codes of construction acceptance criteria within the same WPS. I've managed many aspects of projects but will say I prefer EPC. The conception to completion philosophy I've found to have better results across all departmental operations and disciplines. I have been in this business for 30+ years and learn more every day. I strive to help the younger generation the best I can. Someone took the time to teach me, so I'm continuing to do the same.
