Lead team to analyze OPG's activity in the IESO electricity market and identify improvements to operational strategy to maximize profitability- Perform root cause analysis when generation is constrained down causing spill, and identify solutions to mitigate impact- Present impacts of system conditions on generation to senior leadership staff, and identify potential growth opportunities to maximize generation/revenue- Engage stakeholders on proposed changes to offer strategy, coordinate the implementation of proposed solutions, and write offer instruction procedures for operations staff- Advise Business Development on transmission considerations for new potential energy and capacity project proposals, including Long-Term RFPs- Advise on transmission constraints in support of Asset and Resource Optimization team- Design forecast of IESO electricity market clearing price to identify optimal times for facilities to schedule energy offers- Implement automated daily estimated earnings PowerBI report for non-quick-start units, and review IESO production cost guarantee settlements to ensure correct offers are submitted into market for cost recovery as per energy supply agreement contract- Conduct after-the-fact analysis of non-quick-start generation, and identify corrective actions for offer strategy to improve fleet-wide generation- Review operational costs of non-quick-start units to ensure offers correctly reflect all non-fuel-based costs incurred when unit is online- Develop IT solutions using PowerBI and Azure for daily reporting of OPG's performance in generation revenue, ancillary services, settlement credits, and incentive mechanisms- Keep abreast of Market Renewal projects, and provide advice and support as needed

- Assess transmission outages and identify impacts to generation assets. Identify and highlight opportunities for revenue, and communicate impacts to operations and regional outage planners- Chair quarterly outage meetings with Hydro One, and negotiate for optimization of outage schedules to minimize generation impact- Work with IESO on transmission constraints to power generation, and generation requirements to ensure grid reliability pre- and post-contingency- Discuss reactive power requirements with IESO due to changing transmission landscape in Northeast, and identify impact to OPG outage plans- Work with IESO to obtain outage approval for nuclear, hydroelectric, and thermal units, and work with regional planners when outages are revoked in real-time on modifying outages for re-approval- Discuss with IESO grid reliability concerns, including peak demand adequacy, transmission constraints, and local security considerations. Perform analyses on these issues to identify windows where generation outages would not be a concern for grid reliability and work with outage coordinators to schedule work during these times- Participate in business planning for hydroelectric station outage plans at Sir Adam Beck Generating Station to provide outage approval perspective and generation revenue input- Work with hydroelectric outage stakeholders on rescheduling outages when possible to reduce spill and thereby increase company revenue- Coordinate fuel consumption and deliveries at biomass station to support Northwest transmission upgrade project, and model predicted biomass consumption to ensure sufficient fuel is available

Assess and grade vendors’ responses to RFP from a technological perspective, and provide advice to the business regarding the feasibility of each solution submitted- Plan and implement conversion of in-house applications to containerized applications hosted on Microsoft Azure cloud using Docker and Kubernetes- Work in a team of 3 to implement Credit & Market Risk application to view and update counterparty credit information, and generate reports.
