I oversaw the employability and training & development of all staff and student researchers at Staffordshire University. This involved not only empowering them to become better researchers, but to increase their employability, and ability to navigate the future labour market across the diverse range of roles and industries that researchers can find their careers.

I managed the Employability programmes of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, designing and managing interventions to help the CF community to secure meaningful employment.

I managed the careers and employability provision for two of the University of Derby's four colleges, including the management of a team of Careers and Employability professionals. Working in collaboration with senior academics, I worked to assure that employability was in the heart of every course, and that this provision was of high quality, delivering long term, meaningful impact to students.

I managed the careers and professional development provision for the Institute of Education and the School of Health, Science and Wellbeing at Staffordshire University.Using data analysis of student and graduate employability performance and career behaviour, I designed employability curricula and events in a targeted manner, successfully contributing to increased Graduate Outcomes performance.I also co-authored the Employability Framework, Staffordshire University's new employability strategy, and took a lead on it’s successful embedding in the curricula of a diverse range of courses.I managed several events and projects, including our Graduate Futures project, involving line management of 10 Employability Assistants, driving engagement from recent graduates with our careers service.I developed an exciting new Postgraduate Certificate, of which I was the interim course leader.

I provided Careers Information, Advice and Guidance to clients with multiple barriers to employment. This involved one-to-one sessions as well as group workshops.I managed by own caseload of clients from beginning to end. Referring to additional support with partner organisations where appropriate.I generated referrals through outreach activities in the community, successfully building relationships with external organisations to create a continuous flow of new service users.

I provided Information, Advice and Guidance to clients from a range of diverse backgrounds to help empower them to make changes in their life. I provided support to help people with multiple barriers to employment change their lives for the better, whether that be finding employment, developing skills or further study.

I trained and supervised a team of telemarketers to carry out the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey, contributing to the best ever DLHE return Staffordshire University had received, placing No.1 for Employability amongst mainstream Higher Education Institutions.

I ran the Staffordshire University Careers Insight Programme. Working as part of the Careers Network, I empowered students by sharpening their job hunting and networking skills to help them find work experience in industries relevant to their studies.

Unitemps is the University owned temporary staffing service providing opportunities on campus and with local commercial businesses for students, recent graduates and people from the local community. Of the sector, for the sector, Unitemps combines a ‘student welfare’ ethos with efficient systems and a professional approach. All revenues generated are re-invested into the University and campus facilities. We are growing through our quality, ethical and community approach, mirroring the aspirations of our institution.
