About Greg Nott Cism Afciis
For the last 20+ I helped B2B leaders from all industries to understand what technology could actually do for them. Nowadays this is called 'Digital Transformation'. Technology has always been at my core. More than a hobby and more than a job. As a proud and dedicated 'Early Adopter' I carried a mobile phone at age 15 and owned my first PDA at 16... That's back in 1995 / 1996 before kids generally had access to this kind of technology unlike the world we live in now. After 20 years at Vivio Ltd, working my way from one of just 5 fresh-faced new-starters to Technical Director of the business, it was time for a new adventure. If living through a global pandemic taught us anything it was that life is too short to not at least try and do something that you are really passionate about. I am fortunate that I was in a position to do just that; 'give it a go'.As well as heading the Technical public-face of Vivio, I also looked after the internal tech throughout my time. From being the IT department of 1 in the early years to managing a somewhat larger team of IT specialists in later years, my role also encompassed other specific projects. For example I was responsible for ensuring compliance with the new GDPR back in 2018, becoming the de facto Information Security Officer for the business. Shortly after I notably led the company through successful Certification for ISO9001, ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus - all in the space of 6 months. Thus began my journey into the world of Cyber and Information Security. Through later projects I worked on onboarding new Partners including many involved in Cyber - AI-based threat management, Dark Web monitoring, Blockchain and more. My passion for the subject solidified. Cyber is just so cool.After months of hard work I was able to lay claim to CompTIA Network+, Security+, CySA+, CSAP and - finally - the ISACA Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) professional qualifications. The journey continued in my role as Information Security Manager at Circle IT Solutions, responsible for not only the internal security but also liaising and consulting with our customers.Now heading into 2024 I am excited to take on the role of Head of Information Security for the whole of the ARO organisation accountable for - and an advocate for - all things security.
