    •Developed a mechanical-thermal-chemical coupled mesoscopic model for a crystal to study its response to shock with ANSYS/LS DYNA. Developed user subroutines for LS-DYNA, including user defined constitutive model, user equation of state and user thermal subroutine.•Conducted thermal-mechanical analysis of mechanical system in ANSYS/LS DYNA, ABAQUS using thermal-decomposition model of energetic materials. Developed user thermal subroutines for LS-DYNA and ABAQUS to include exothermic effect of energetic materials exposed to cook-off. •Published 3 papers in recent 2 years as the first/corresponding author.

Applied Godunov SPH method in the detonation of high explosives.•Used in-house SPH codes to study high-velocity impact (collision between bullet and steel target) and hydraulic problems (flow of water after dam breaks). •Used open-source software LAMMPS to study the detonation of high explosives at microscopic scale. Calculate the equation of state of high explosives under shock wave. •Published 5+ papers on peer-reviewed international journals.
