Guazu Gamarra graduated from Universidad de Lima, where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Economics (1992). Subsequently, he obtained a Master of Science in Finance degree from Universidad de Chile where he graduated with honors (1997).He has worked for Caterpillar for over 10 years, at the Geneva (Switzerland) and Nashville (Tennessee) offices. Prior to this, he served as the Financial Risk manager for Telefonica del Peru for 5 years and had held different positions at the Lima Stock Exchange and Santander Investment Bank in Peru.In 2008, Guazu was named Sr. Finance Rep. in Cat Financial’s Treasury department, with responsibility for the long-term funding plan, interest rate and FX risk management, banking relationships and the implementation of funding solutions for Latin American subsidiaries. He has also served as Language & Cultural Support leader (2010-2011) for Cat Latino Connection- Nashville ERG (CLC) and subsequently as Chair (2012-2013). In January 2014, he was named Executive VP for ALPFA Nashville Chapter and elected President in November 2014.During his 20+ years career, Guazu has had the opportunity of working in 4 different countries: Peru (11+ years), Chile (2 years), Switzerland (4 years) and the USA (7+ years), giving him the opportunity to experience and learn from different cultures and business environments.
