Cost Engineer

Bruges, Région Flamande, Belgique

Develop a cost model based to estimate the cost of a transmission based on some data provided by the customers (dimension, input torque,...). Study of all the data available at DANA from the existing transmission. Find the correlation between the data and the cost to get an accurate model. This mathematical model is now used in a programme that finds all transmissions possibilities based on the customers' requirements and then gives all the information needed to the engineers to choose the best option.Develop a second cost model that will estimate the cost of parts produced at DANA (shaft or gear) with little error margin (under 20%). Study all the existing drawing of parts that have been produced at DANA, work in the finance department and in the manufacturing department to get all the information needed. Study all the manufacturing processes (drilling, turning, heat treatment), the CNC programs and how the parts are produced. Thanks to all this information, I manage to create an algorithm based on the part's dimension found on the drawing and CNC program that can estimate quickly the manufacturing time of a parts. With the help of the finance department, it was easy to get the cost of the part. An easy interface with excel has been created where only dimension and weight found on the drawing need to be added, then the different cost and time are directly calculated. Thanks to my manufacturing time model, I participated in another project that was to calculate the time to produce all the parts ordered in a year in order to buy enough machine to meet this deadline.Skills:Manufacturing Process, Data analysis, Mathematical algorithm, Drawing with GD&TCommunication, Teamwork, Autonomous, Take initiative, AdaptabilityTools:Excel, VBA, CNC Iso
