In my role as Process Engineer at Aixtron SE I am working on epitaxial growth of silicon carbide. This will allow the use of SiC in a wide variety of applications such as high power electronics with low energy loss.Previously I was a PhD student and MEXT scholarship recipient at the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology and the Friedrich Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). There I worked on the fabrication and characterization of nanoscale devices.I obtained my Bachelor and Master degrees in physics at the Friedrich Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. During my studies I focused on experimental techniques and device fabrication, including a variety of lithography, evaporation and etching processes.Additionally to my studies, I have gained insights into semiconductor technology as a part time student worker at Texas Instruments from 2010 to 2015.Through participation in the student council activities at the FAU Erlangen I learned key aspects of event organization and team building.Outside of my professional life I volunteered at the German Red Cross from 2008 to 2013 as a paramedic and participated in ballroom standard formation dancing, ranking 4th on the national championships in each year from 2013 to 2015. Additionally, I competed in single competition until my relocation to Japan, where I instead immersed myself in a traditional Japanese dance form called "Yosakoi Soran" in a local team. After my return to Germany, in order to keep a connection to Japan, I am now learning the Japanese fencing style of Kendo.
