I started working in the space field in Alenia Spazio in 1997, in the product development office of the mechanical directorate.During an overall period of 6 years my main activities were focused on structural design and analysis but I also had the chance to grow my competencies in design, materials/composites, standards, manufacturing, testing and management. In this phase I developed a "technical approach", which I still use in all the activities I work on.Initial experience with Manned Spacecraft (ISS) and Satellites. In 2002 I joined Aerostudi adding aeronautics and defense experiences.In 2004 I joined SANITEC. facing the problems of industrial production, developing my design capability and Project Management from a systematic point of view.In 2005 I joined Assystem. managing an increasingly number of people (up to 35) in several complex composite projects for the aerospace industry. I was in charge of the industry BU, managing over 40 people in 3 different offices (Turin, Milan, Monfalcone). Technical responsible in Turin’s office, I was then granted the entire responsibility for the technical activities related to Industry, Railway & Aerospace, managing around 100 people.In 2010 I get back to THALES on a challenging project: transferring part of the Spacebus system from France to Italy. Since July 2011 I’ve been employed in the Quality department of Moreggia, adding to my professional experience processes, product and system aspects in a manufacturing environment. New Product Engineering ManagerApr Aug 2021 - Nov 2023Pinerolo, Piedmont, ItalyResponsible for setting up and consolidating the company's engineering development structure, I took the department from the initialcore of 3 people present in August 2021 to a structured team of 16 people still growing. The department is currently responsible for allphases of engineering development, definition of the equipment architecture, selection of components, issuing of purchasespecifications, execution of development tests, qualification and acceptance of products.Achievements/Goals Achieved: In the team building phases, we developed, defined, qualified and accepted the first space product (aspace module environmental control system safety pneumatic valve) taking it from the prototype development stages to certificationand flight in less than 12 months. The first technical review was held in August 2021, the qualification completed in April 2022 and thefirst flight-to-orbit product on the ISS delivered in June 2022 and launched in November 2022. -
