We are team of 8 Control System experts providing support to the expert groups that are working with the accelerators of the 4 large research facilities (SLS, SwissFEL, HIPA, Proscan) at PSI

Controls Section is composed by 19 people coordinated in four different groups: Accelerators Controls, Beamlines Controls, Generic Software Development, and PLC Protection Systems which provide services and develop software solutions for the Accelerators physicists and Beamline scientists of the ALBA Synchrotron. Coordinate a team of 9 people for the beamline control software development and deployment, and the installation of the computing infrastructure for the ALBA’s first phase beamlines. Contribution in the Sardana Control System, developing and testing core features, controllers for instrumentation, and macros for experiments. Within the Computing division, collaboration in systems and electronics projects highlighting the requirements and restrictions from the controls point of view. Participation in international collaborations with other institutes around Europe like: IcePAP, Tango, mxCuBE, EDNA, Kappa Users, Motion, Pandata, LIMA.

Being part of the controls group as the main contact for the motion subsystem, and as the main contact for the design and development of the control software of two beamlines: NCD and XALOC. Contribution in the design and development of the Sardana Control System by defining use cases, reporting bugs, gathering requests from the scientists, and testing features with real hardware. Development of control applications for the Linac, Booster, and Storage Ring accelerators, and providing controls infrastructure for metrology activities, and laboratories. Also taking an active part in a wide range of projects in other subsystems like diagnostics, detectors, DAQ, Tango, GUI frameworks, and data analysis.

Engagement with the eRep European project http://www.iiia.csic.es/udt/en/project/erep, studying and implementing various community reputation models, and their integration in a multiagent system. Design an electronic institution and the common ontology for the agents dialog. Web interaction with the agents using AJAX and RMI technologies and system administration tasks for the software development section, being mainly maintenance of tomcat, mysql and postgres database on Debian GNU/Linux.

Participation in various IIIA–CSIC projects. Collaboration in the UDT–IA software unit. Simulation environments for electronic institutions; research on business role models in electronic institutions; design, sample applications for electronic institution features; and contribution to projects using techniques such as case based reasoning, data mining, search, and similarity calculus.

Participation in the MASFIT project http://www.iiia.csic.es/udt/es/project/masfit, developing a multiagents system for fish trading auctions: decision algorithms; data mining; buying strategies; and communication protocols. Graphic interfaces for system administration. Note: MASFIT has been a Fifth Framework Programme of the European Community financed project, inside the IST initiative, being part of the EUTIST-AMI project cluster.

IT support in networking and operating systems in the industrial environment mainly at NISSAN MOTOR IBERICA, S.A. in the Zona Franca; evaluation of network installations and proposal of improvements; Infrastructure management of firewall, voice and data connections and QoS. Implementation of an ATM backbone integrating Ethernet and Token-Ring networks.
