Underground gold mine located in Buriticá, Antioquia, Colombia. World-class mineral deposit for its grade and reserves estimated at more than 4mm of measured ounces and with potential for resources up to 11 million ounces. Once in production (mid-2020) it will double the country's annual gold production.Responsible for the company's global environmental policies and management.• Definition and implementation of corporate environmental policies and goals.• Feasibility of the mine obtaining the environmental license for the Buriticá project and its 110kV associated transmission line. Buriticá is considered a project of national and strategic interest (PINE)• Implementation of a world-class online monitoring network controlling the most important environmental aspects of the mine and the area of influence of the mining project.• Maintenance of a clean file not counting with any environmental breaches or fines for the different company assets.

Responsible for the company's environmental and regulatory compliance• Set up of the strategy to obtain the environmental license for the Buritica project and the adjacent 110 kV transmission line. Both licenses were granted.• Management of international and national consultant firms to prepare a successful EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) • Corporate image improved through assertive relationships with local and national government entities. i.e. National Mining Agency (ANM), National Authority of Environmental Licenses (ANLA) • Environmental certification based on international standard ISO 14001 for the exploration and exploitation of the Buritica gold mine. The certification has been maintained to date.

Open pit coal mining company with two large scale mines (La Francia and El Hatillo) and a coal terminal 240 km from the mine using the railroad infrastructure. Combined production of about 5mtpa Responsible for the company's global environmental and social policies and management.• Environmental license amendments for the mines and port to increase production and direct loading port operations.• Preparation and control of environmental and communities´ budgets.• Liaise with governmental offices.• Responsible for maintaining ISO14001 certification for the mine.• Maintain social license by means of the CNR Foundation. Legal Representative.

Large scale open pit coal mining counting with two large deposits in La Jagua and Calenturitas and with a complementary coal terminal, Puerto Nuevo. The mines are separated about 22 km from each other and the port is about 240km from the mines. Combined operations for about 24 - 25mtpa. Third largest coal producer in Colombia.Responsible for the company's global environmental and social policies and management.• Responsible for obtaining the amendments of the licenses for the different business units:o Calenturitas Mine in order to get up to 22mtpa throughput and the 7km long river deviation in order to get more than 220 million tons of coal.o La Jagua Mine. This deposit consists of five different mining leases and we obtained a unified license approval to manage the deposit allowing to improve the environmental conditions.o Puerto Nuevo coal terminal with capacity to handle up to 60 million tons per year on a direct loading operation.• Obtain and maintain social license for the overall operations (mines and port) implementing social programs. All social programs and interaction with stakeholders were made through three different Foundations: La Jagua, Calenturitas & Puerto Nuevo which I represented.• Liaise with governmental office representatives of different disciplines (mines and environment, local mayors, etc.)• Preparation and control of budgets for the different business units

Overall responsibility of the mine, including and not limited to: Safety, Environment, Community Relations, Production and Planning, Budget preparation and control among others. • Responsible for Mine start up, construction & commissioning for the first two years and for its management for the following three years• Recruiting, training of local personnel to work as operators. • During the three-year period all productions targets were achieved within budget.• Significant improvement in safety KPIs during the startup period, obtaining more than 1´000,000 man-hour lost time injury free. • Social license and excellent reputation with key stakeholders. • Implementation of GRI key performance indicators.
