Between years 1996 and 2002, while working for SIF América S.A., I assumed the administration of the servers running the María Customs System of the Argentinean Customs. With heterogeneous software an equipment (Bull, IBM, Sun), and several nodes distributed throughout the country, my responsabilities included:◾ Manage the servers in the production and development environments.◾ Install and maintain the appropriate software, including launching new versions of the María software.◾ Propose and implement solutions regarding data delivery and propagation, processing windows, load distribution.◾ Configure and manage the high availability software for the nodes of Ezeiza and Buenos Aires.◾ Supervise the system operators team.◾ Maintain server integrity. Propose and implement security policies.◾ Coordinate and work alongside the Oracle database administrators.◾ Coordinate and work alongside the network administrators.◾ Create and maintain automation scripts (backups, installation, version launch).◾ Management of the source repository (CVS).◾ Diagnose and solve performance and network problems and physical failures.◾ Perform tunning on the operating system, its components and related software.◾ Upgrade and migrate the whole system between different software levels, operating systems and new hardware.

My first job at the company was the development of a back-end software solution for ATM machines using the ISO-8583 protocol for Banco del Buen Ayre and the Link ATM network.

Between the years 2003 and 2005, I was hired as a freelancer for Little Lion Studios, a DVD production company whom I knew thanks to an open-sourced DVD subtitling program I did, to provide Spanish translation and subtitles for several of their DVD productions.The initial project was the translation for a Japanese animation named His and Her Circumstances, which only had English subtitles at the moment. The Spanish subtitles I've provided got favorable critics in specialized media.With time I took othe projects which included the translation and the timing and rendering of the subtitles. In several cases I've also created English Closed Captioning for the hearing impaired, for which I had to create a Closed Captioning software.My most complex project was the translation and subtitling of the 2003 Ringo Starr tour DVD. Red de Negocios was a Value Added Network that provided connectivity services to companies like Carta Franca, Frávega and the Bolsa de Comercio de Buenos Aires (Buenos Aires Stock Market).My duties included:◾ Technical Lead, reporting to the General Manager.◾ Operations manager.◾ Satellite Network Administrator, managing nodes throughout the country.◾ Lead developer.◾ Development of several protocol emulation interfaces.◾ Reverse engineering of the VIP Bull protocol and development of a VIP terminal emulator.

Sistran Consultores provides software solutions for insurance companies across the World. Leader in the Latin American market, it serves dozens of insurance companies in Argentina, Colombia, Guatemala, Brazil, Peru, United States, Panama, Ecuador and Mexico.Duties:◾ Module development for the SISE software solution.◾ Development of a solution for the automatic documentation of source code.◾ Data migration between platforms in new deployments.Among other projects, I developed the first reinsurance module as requested by the Argentinean branch of Commercial Union (now Aviva), where it was deployed for the first time. Due to the module's success, the Brazil and Peru branches soon requested customized versions of the module. To attend that requirement, I traveled to Rio de Janeiro and Lima to developed localized versions of the software, deploy them, and train the teams involved.

Among other projects, I'd like to highlight the development of the firmware for the DVM 1300SP modem. The modem allowed the communication of a Sinclair SX Spectrum home computer to other computers using a phone line, in the then flourishing age of the BBS. My task was to design and develop a stand-alone ROM for it using the Z-80 assembly language.
