Principal Systems Administrator For The Argentinean Customs
Between years 1996 and 2002, while working for SIF América S.A., I assumed the administration of the servers running the María Customs System of the Argentinean Customs. With heterogeneous software an equipment (Bull, IBM, Sun), and several nodes distributed throughout the country, my responsabilities included:◾ Manage the servers in the production and development environments.◾ Install and maintain the appropriate software, including launching new versions of the María software.◾ Propose and implement solutions regarding data delivery and propagation, processing windows, load distribution.◾ Configure and manage the high availability software for the nodes of Ezeiza and Buenos Aires.◾ Supervise the system operators team.◾ Maintain server integrity. Propose and implement security policies.◾ Coordinate and work alongside the Oracle database administrators.◾ Coordinate and work alongside the network administrators.◾ Create and maintain automation scripts (backups, installation, version launch).◾ Management of the source repository (CVS).◾ Diagnose and solve performance and network problems and physical failures.◾ Perform tunning on the operating system, its components and related software.◾ Upgrade and migrate the whole system between different software levels, operating systems and new hardware.
